Today, I have the pleasure of reviewing an amazing book called “Even In The Grey” by Laura Guenot!!! 😀
Daniel Rogers, a young American soldier, harbors bitterness against the man who ruined his life. Memories torment him, and he can’t seem to forget the past. How can a horrible train accident, a pretty French artist, an unplanned reunion, and a pocketful of crayons help him see through his dark world and into the light of forgiveness?
I thought this book was very good!!! I loved how the author was able to make her readers connect with the characters so flawlessly! And the emotion in it…AHHH it was intense and SO good!! Laura is a master at pulling her audiences heartstrings!
I liked how the book had a clear message. You didn’t have to dig and find the meaning of the book. It’s message of forgiveness was very evident. It made me think, I hope I can have such forgiveness as the characters demonstrated. 🙂
Speaking of the characters, they were very well done. I liked how one saw Daniel change throughout the book. His fearlessness despite his feelings, was very inspiring to me. And Claire, sweet Claire. I loved how caring she was. She truly imitated Jesus in everything! Also, Aaron! Ohh, Aaron…*sighs* [Don’t worry, I’m not spoiling anything;)] Out of all the characters, he impacted me the most.
Note: I recommend this book for ages 12+, for some sensitive material and difficult situations.
So, don’t miss a chance to read this book! It will change you. 🙂
