Who’s Writing Your Story?

We are all writers.

Everyday we are creating memories to store away for safekeeping.

All of us tell a story.

Our footprints are the words being scribbled down and the passing of years, chapters coming to a close and new ones beginning.

But I have a question for you. Who is the author of your story? And don’t say you don’t have one!

Every book has an author, so you do too.

Is your author your parents? Your career? Your goals?

What or who moves your plot line?

Really think about this. Close your eyes, come on do it with me, and ask yourself, “Who or what orchestrates my life?”

This is hard to ask yourself! It’s hard to face despite how simple the question is.

Do you know what my personal answer is most of the time?

I like to be the author of my own story.

You may be thinking; Um that’s normal. It’s your life, so you’re in charge.

No! No, it’s not my life. God lives inside me, therefore it’s His life!

Hebrews 12:2 says this:

“looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (ASV)

Did you catch that word in there? Author. Now it doesn’t specifically say He’s the author “of our lives”, but is does say faith.

So, I challenge you. Who is the author of your life? Is it the Lord or someone else? Are you listening to His voice or your own? Are your actions based off of what He is telling you?

I encourage you to let God be in charge of your unique story. His hands are the most capable and caring.

And He doesn’t want to hurt you or mess up everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve.  This is His promise to you:

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)

And He’ll accomplish things way beyond your expectations!

1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— (NIV)

Philippians 1:6
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (NIV)

So, today place your story in His strong hands. Amazing things will happen!
